We never felt any pressure !
We started our search for a Condo in the mountains in January '96 as part of a "like-kind property exchange" which means we were selling a townhouse in Aurora and replacing it with a similar property in the mountains. This process defers the obligation of paying capital gains on the selling property providing all of the necessary dates and guidelines are followed. We contacted Renee after seeing an advertisement in the paper which indicated she had experience with this type of transaction. During our first meeting with Renee, she explained that it would be difficult to view some of the listed properties on weekends during prime time ski season because they would be occupied. Because of our work schedule, weekends were the best time for us. So, after giving Renee some idea of what we were looking for, she began shopping for us during the week while we were at work. She stayed in close contact with us during the week and provided us with a list of properties that she thought fit our requirements. So, during the weekend trips we were prepared to make the most of our time and trip. One of the first units Renee took us to was in the Wildernest/Salt Lick complex. We liked the unit, we thought the owners were a little over priced compared to the information Renee provided us regarding past sales in that complex, and we made an offer. The owners didn't budge on their price, so we continued our search. Now, Renee had a real good idea of what we wanted. She continued to do research during the week and provide us with comparison information of the new property and the Salt Lick unit. It was during this period we most enjoyed Renee's skill as a Real Estate Broker. We felt enough pressure with approaching time lines for the "like-kind exchange" and the amount of time we had been spending on our weekends looking for a condo so the last thing we wanted was pressure from someone who "just wanted a sale". Renee was very patient and supportive. She continued to provide us with prospective properties. We never felt any pressure and that was very important to us. No pressure! It turns out the Salt Lick unit was right for us and we paid the price. The morning of the closing was a little emotional for us, as we exchanged gifts, because we were saying "good bye" to a new friend, Renee. But, as it turns out, it was not "good bye", it was "till next time". We continued to have contact with Renee. Most recently was when a question arose with our Homeowners Association about our closing process. We called Renee and asked for her opinion. As always, she provided a quick and accurate response. In looking back on this experience, with Renee's guidance and support, we made all of the right decisions and we are "really happy" with our condo. We highly recommend Renee to any buyer who needs someone to do the work for them, to provided detailed information in a timely fashion, and without and added pressure. We look forward to the next time we will work with Renee!
